We've already had plenty of hands–on time with the fun, but somewhat tiny Asus Eee Top at Stuff Live. But rather than sticking with just one model, Asus, not known for its restraint when it comes to the Eee range, has said it's planning a string of bulked up versions for the first half of 2009.
The current Eee Top, which you can snag for £399, measures just 15.6in across. Hardly capacious enough for fondling photos and flicking through web pages. But Asus's head honcho has said they're already working on 20in and 22in versions. And best of all, the UK will be among the first countries to get them.
The suggestion is that these will be more powerful than their nettop cousin, aiming at the likes of the iMac and the Sony's all–in–one Vaios. Anything that can drive the cost of these powerful beasts down is good with us. Throw in a dose of Windows 7 and you'll have a more than half–decent media all rounder.
Remember you can catch the XP–toting Asus Eee Top in our
hands–on video right now. And when you're done, you can read our
full in–depth review.
