Amazon Kindle 2 – iPhone friendly version out now
Amazon's Kindle 2 is already causing extreme excitement amongst bookish gadget fans across the pond. And now they're getting an extra dose of eBook fun, with Amazon unleashing the Kindle for iPhone app.

Sadly, it's a US only affair, but punters keen on reading the latest fiction on that relatively tiny 3.5in screen just have to buy books via their web browser before transferring them wirelessly to the specially designed app.

You'll even be able to try the first few chapters for free before deciding whether it's a literary hit or a turkey of Jackie Collins proportions. And talking of paying nowt, the app itself is gratis. Very kind of you too Amazon.

Amazon has said previously that they plan to launch the Kindle 2 here in the UK later this year. Surely this app would be a great way to get things started.
