Using a sat-nav to avoid getting lost for hours down country lanes is always a good way to cut carbon emissions, but Spanish company Crambo claims to have gone one better with its Vexia Econav.
Available in four models – the 350 and 450, both of which have UK and Total Europe variations – it tells you in real-time how to drive as well as which route is kindest to your fuel consumption (which won’t necessarily be the quickest).
All you do is tap in your car type, fuel type and number of passengers and it’ll give you the route, as well as schooling you on which gear to use and whether you’re using the accelerator pedal correctly.
Follow these instructions, and the Vexia will apparently make you such an economical driver that it’ll have paid for itself inside six months. That is unless you’re fed up with being told how to drive and started cycling to work instead.
