T-Mobile modem – now you can really web 'n' walk

That hastily stencilled-on T-Mobile logo can't fool us. That there modem's exactly the same one that Vodafone launched in November. But hold on what's this on the price tag? £30 plus £29 a month for unlimited mobile broadband data? We cry, 'bargain!'

Yes, while Vodafone's identical offering will set you back £49 plus £52.86 for unlimited data, T-Mob's slashing £20 off the up-front charge and more than £20 a month of the subscription.

Just like Voda’s offering, this one touts speedy 1.8Mbps HSDPA and needs nothing more than a spare USB port, which should please Mac users without slots for data cards.

T-Mobile can't quite match Vodafone for HSDPA coverage but with it promising to be available to 85 per cent of the population by the end of the year the gap is narrowing fast.
