Microsoft Bing takes over Yahoo! Search

Microsoft Bing will power Yahoo! Search queries from now on. The alliance between the two firms is an attempt to tackle the gargantuan power of Google

Microsoft tried to buy Yahoo! last year but now the two former foes have come to a deal. Bing will power Yahoo! searches while it will keep control of its ads.

The combination of the two could be a huge blow to Google’s power, immediately boosting Microsoft’s share of online searches from 8.4% to 28%.

Yahoo! and Microsoft might be best buddies now but they made their feelings about Google pretty clear.

A joint statement from the pair said the 10-year search deal will give advertisers and users a choice instead of relying “on one company that dominates more than 70% of all search.”

Do you Bing or is Google the only one for you? Let us know in the comments.
