New brace of JVC camcorders unleashed

It’s been awhile since we clamped eyes on some serious high–end camcorders, but JVC has swooped in today with three new offerings that certainly sate our appetite for top-notch home movies.

The Everio GZ–HD40 and GZ–HD30 both offer the chance to snag footage in AVCHD or MPEG–2, depending on which format takes your fancy. Either way, you’ll get 1920X1080 Full HD.

The GZ–HD40 packs a massive 120GB hard drive, so you can record a whacking 50 hours of HD content. The GZ–HD30 will capture 33 hours onto its 80GB hard drive. Everything else though is the same across both models.

Both will hit the shelves here in Blighty in August, with the high–end model costing £849 and the dinkier 80GB version coming in at £679.
