Orange iPhone 3G and 3G S deal announced

There have been rumours for a while now, but this morning it became official that O2 has lost its exclusivity deal to sell the iPhone with news that O

It had previously been suggested that Orange would just be selling the 3G, and that O2 would retain exclusivity on the 3G S. However, Orange has confirmed it will be selling both handsets later this year.

Orange came out on top of Ofcom’s 3G investigation earlier this year where O2 didn’t do so well, so this is good news for those who have avoided the iPhone because of O2’s less than reliable service in recent months.

No dates, prices or tariff information has been announced, but a pre-registration channel for customers to register their interest has been launched. .
