O2 has confirmed details leaked on an employee's blog that there'll be free iPhone contract upgrades for most of its contract customers who switch over to a fresh iPhone contract.Anyone who had their current contract phone before the 19 September iPhone announcement will be able to buy a £269 iPhone with no extra contract charges. But those who bought in after that date who want to switch will be hit by a hefty £219 supplement. Ouch. Also confirmed are the plans for launch day, which will see stores closing early and then reopening at 6.02pm to serve up iPhones to the Apple faithful. They'll also be available at Carphone Warehouse which has put out its own announcement promising plenty of stock on the day. So no need to camp round the block – unless you want to, of course.EssentialsApple iPhonePrice: £269 + contractOn sale: 9th NovemberContact: O2Related stories:Apple iPhone hits the UK on 9 NovemberThe Stuff guide to the iPhoneReviewed: 8GB iPhone
