If you’re after a simple-to-use phone that just works, this is it. *****Sony Ericsson W880i from £free (www.sonyericsson.co.uk)The slimmest Walkman phone ever at 9.4mm thick, Sony Ericsson’s waif-in-chief (above) still produces dynamic sound and a raft of features, including 3G. Those with meaty pinkies will struggle with the thorny buttons, but otherwise it’s the ultimate music phone. *****
