Samsung G800 – mega snapper

The camphone arms race shows no sign of a peaceful solution with this: Samsung’s latest attack on your compact camera, the G800.

It joins Sony Ericsson’s high-end CyberShots by boasting a proper Xenon flash but trumps them with a world first: 3x optical zoom on a 5MP camphone. Taking tips from proper compacts it also borrows face detection for picking out mugs on the 2.4in QVGA screen.

Some on-board video editing software, a mobile blogging feature and HSDPA mean you can shoot, edit and upload in double quick time or use a PictBridge compatible printer to reel off hard copies of your snaps.

It hits shops in November, but maintain your focus on Stuff.tv for a hands-on video very soon.
