Samsung promises three Android phones in 2009

Who’s been a busy phone company, then? Just days after pumping out the Tocco Ultra Edition, Omnia HD and Beat DJ, a Samsung exec has said the co

Won-Pyo Hong, head of product strategy, went on to tell Reuters that it’s undecided whether the new batch of phones would land first in the US or Europe, but that both should have them by the end of the year.

Open source aficionados will also be pleased to hear that a phone based on the ‘LiMo’ platform, which was co-founded by Samsung a couple of years back, is also likely to be released later this year.

Considering the dearth of Android phones at this year’s Mobile World Congress, it’s good news for those who like indulging in third-party apps and SDKs. We’ll bring you more official news as soon as we get it, but in the meantime check out our hands-on with HTC’s Magic.
