Sony A900 – more pixels than you can shake a lens at

After yesterday's leaked details of the A900 DSLR, Sony have today confirmed it'll be available to buy next month.

As expected, it's packing in the pixels with a massive full frame 24.6MP sensor. The viewfinder is getting the pro treatment too, with 100 per cent coverage so you see the whole picture and it's backed up by a 3in LCD.

There's also 5fps continuous shooting at full resolution and onboard SteadyShot image stabilisation.

As expected, this dwarfs the specs of other recent "prosumer" models like the Canon EOS 50D and the Nikon D90.

Still no word on price, but we expect it to similarly dwarf the competition in that department.
