No, that’s not a typo. The leaky sieve that is Sony Ericsson has dripped out some hot news this morning, with specs and pics confirming they’re releasing an 8MP camera phone at the end of this year.
Dubbed the Cybershot C905, and codenamed Shiho, the new slider not only has an 8
MP sensor, but also Xenon and LED flashes, GPS and TV out. Then there’s the now obligatory
HSDPA for making the web zip along at lightning speed.
It’ll get its official unveiling on 17 June, which just so happens to be the day we’re meeting the folks from Sony Ericsson to take a gander at their new kit for the last quarter of the year. Only an idiot would bet against the C905 not being there.
The pic you’re looking at was unveiled by the
unofficial Sony Ericsson blog. You can find more snaps and deets there.
With Samsung also said to be readying their own 8MP snapper, what are the chances we could see a full escalation in the camera phone wars? Pretty high we reckon. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
