The Eee PC 901 – Stuff's gadget of the year

Asus has taken top honours at the Stuff Gadget Awards, with the Asus Eee PC 901 winning the much–coveted gadget of the year at the Dorchester Hotel tonight. The dinky laptop saw off competition from the likes of the Xbox 360, PS3 and iPhone 3G to snag the title.

The tiny machine has helped spark a whole new line of gadget, kicking off the current netbook craze and helping get everyone online on the cheap.

Apple didn’t walk away empty–handed, the iPhone 3G winning the readers’ gadget of the year. The second generation of the blower has proved a hit with punters, thanks to HSDPA and an affordable price tag.

Other wards went to the likes of Nokia, Firebox and Sony. The full list of winners will be there for all to see in the next issue of Stuff magazine, out 1 October.
