Toshiba has just officially spilt the beans on their spanking new NB100 netbook. The Eee PC baiter leaked earlier this week when their Mexican site managed to drop some, but not all, of the specs.Like all its other netbook pals, the NB100, initially dubbed the NB105 in scurrilous blog reports, packs in an Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM, with up to 120GB HDD. It seems plenty of storage is the way forward with these tiny machines these days, with Samsung and LG weighing in with similar amounts of space on their versions. The 8.9n screen comes in at 1024x600, making some netbooks look weedy by comparison. You'll be able to use it to make video calls thanks to the 0.3MP webcam and get online with either Wi-Fi or Ethernet.Tosh is offering XP and Linux versions, both of which they say will have a rather specific battery life of 3 hours 47 minutes. That should be plenty for farting about on Facebook and pretending to do some work.
It's due to hit shelves in October in Cosmic Black, Champagne Gold and Bright Silver designs. And the best bit? Toshiba says it'll cost approximately £260. Seems like they've remembered the whole point of these netbooks in the first place.See more on cheap laptops in our best free netbook deals feature.
