Toshiba unleashes dual-screen Libretto W100 tablet/laptop hybrid

We mentioned rumours of a dual-screen Tosh tablet last week, and here it is – the Toshiba Libretto W100.

As we suspected, the W100 runs Windows 7 across a pair of 7-inch touchscreens. An accelerometer means you can hold it like a book or like a normal laptop, with a virtual keyboard on the lower screen.

Libretto? Where have I heard that before?

You may remember Toshiba’s Libretto series from the late ’90s and early ’00s. They were ultra-portable subnotebooks – pretty good for casual surfing and quick email firing, but painful for anything hardcore. The Libretto 70 pictured was hampered by a jerky control nub to the right of the screen, while things like an optical/floppy drive and modem all had to be added via PCMCIA card ports. Boy was it cool, though.
