Stuff says

A worthy PC rival to the Apple MacBook and MacBook Air.
  • Pros HDMI output. 4 USB ports. Gorgeous design.
  • Cons Heavier than the Air. Could be expensive.
PREVIEW: Tosh’s new Portégé is more than a little familiar to our eyes. Designed to within an inch of its skinny  hips, the M800 has clean white lines and a backlighted LED keyboard to complement its 13.3in screen. Hmm, stop us if you’ve heard this before.

The Portégé M800 may be taking on the fight of its short life by rivalling the MacBook, MacBook Air and even nodding its head on the way to the hoary looks of the Asus EeePC.

Yet there’s no doubt it's an impressive rival. Weighing in at just 2kg, it has an optical drive and 4 USB ports to wave in the face of the Air. So you won’t feel like you need to sacrifice connectivity for mobility.

But as its top trump, Tosh’s little wonder can send out HDMI to your flat screen TV, which makes it a perfect addition to your minimalist bachelor pad. Just don’t put it down on any white surfaces, or you might not find it again.

The Toshiba Portégé M800 comes with a choice of Vista Home Premium or Vista Business.  We think it rivals Apple’s laptops in the style stakes, but check out our hands on video preview if you don’t believe us.
