CES 2009: Torrent movies direct to your TV

Hollywood hasn't yet suffered the same devastation as the music industry, but with the global depression looming, that could all be about to change.

And if one box is going to have the movie moguls fuming, it'll be Netgear's Internet TV Player ITV2000, a pocket-sized set-top box that allows you to download torrent movies direct to your TV. Which means movie piracy just got a whole lot simpler.

Powered by VuNow software, the ITV2000 will also stream YouTube videos, scour the web for Flash videos. But it's the ability to download torrents to USB drives that marks it out from the Apple TV crowd. You can even enter in the torrent details remotely using a web interface - so you can set a movie to download from work, and watch it when you get home.

Cinenow pay-per-view downloads is also built in, if you prefer to get your movies legitimately.
