What's your game of the decade?

With Christmas tat already seeping into shops, you know the end is in sight for 2009 and with it the 2000s.

So what has been the game of the decade? Well if you use sales as your measure it's Wii Play, according to North American figures released by the NPD Group today.

Halo, Grand Theft Auto and Wii Fit lag behind the family friendly game that people most likely bought for an extra Wii remote.

So, barring any last minute upsets, we now know what the biggest-selling game of the 2000s was. But what was the best game of the decade? Over to you...

star wars knights of the old republic for number 1. great great story and fun gameplay too if you're into stats crunching. bit glitchy but it couldn't spoil it.

runners up: jak and daxter, think it must have been one of the first sandbox style games and pulled off a totally seamless world; and baldur's gate dark alliance, cult favourite hack and slasher.

well i had loads of fun with these 3 anyway

Halo - offline it redefined much of the FPS genre. Online it has taken gaming to new heights, refining existing models to a ludicrous degree. It is peerless in delivering an user-friendly interface, balanced game-matching (for the most part) and , paired with its user defined content, almost limitless depth. At last count, my cost per game is around the 2p mark.

Oh, and GTA3: Vice City was pretty astonishing too.
