I gave up smoking last week and lasted a total of 7 days. Doesn't sound a lot but I had the week off so I had nothing to do thus leaving my mind hanging on cigarettes, whilst battling without patches, gum or any of the other contraptions they have now. Well, I got up this morning and made haste to work buying a beautiful golden pack of 20 Lamberts. The cigarette was, to be honest, not what I was looking forward to. It was the actions involved. That's the more addictive side to it.

I have been thinking about it quite a lot and after searching the internet for a means of cutting down at the very least I found....

Okay, the name sounds like a failed mob boss but the idea is spot on. I love, when smoking my cancer sticks, watching the smoke drift around my room, straining my eyes trying to play my games, having to balance the control pad and cigarette in my hand at once. Hmmm...good times. Now though, once payday comes, I can do all said actions without burning my hand!!!

Crap writing aside. If there are any smokers on here go and check it out. I will be ordering mine on Friday and would gladly leave a review for anyone that wants it.

I used to smoke 60 a day but struggled to get the *** to my lips round from the oxygen mask. Luckily, the lip cancer meant my mouth got a whole lot bigger and as I am now impotent and suffering from heart disease and lung cancer, I have plenty of time on my own in the oxygen tent to  "enjoy" my ciggies.

Smoking, for real men, as long as you don't mind the odd side effect.

PS. I was a 60 a day person until my daughter was born 14 years ago which coincided with my father's heart attack. And what about all the stuff you could buy with the cash?

ralphipoddale can go suck the shitty moisture out of my ass hair for such a dickhead comment. Go blow yourself. In regards to everyone else that actually reads properly I am quitting...again. If these things turn out to be true then I will get them. I'll be honest. I had a hard time trying to quit but I feel now is the right time for me. The cash I save is going into a nice big fat ISA account and the money I save, I will give to ralphipoddale so he can have a few ribs removed to finally be able to suck himself in front of his daddy. The world needs less people like....well ralphipoddale.

Anyway though. If anyone knows of any other way of helping to kick the habit I'd love to know. Peel an orange, bite your nails. Anything. I just wanna quit now. :)

I read a book about it that claimed the nicotein physical addiction only lasts about 48 hours. After that, its all down to your mental addiction. It actually took me about a year to be craving free although I was ciggie free before then. The thing to remember is that if you fall of the wagon, don't set another date to try again. Do it straight away. So, if you are out on the ale and smoke, when you get up the next day, feel dissappointed with yourself and don't light up again. Treat it as a blip, not a reason to start full time again. Finally, you will find that your blips become further and further apart until one night, you'll light up and just not enjoy it at all. Also, ban smoking in the house and if you can, stay in for a month. Also, if you wake up in the morning and find you have some fags with you.... then you did have too much to drink and should start looking for used condom wrappers.

 

 

Good luck. It's not easy but if you keep trying it is possible.

Supposedly there is as much an addiction to the nicotine as there is to the habbit of smoking and the routine. A friend of mine has just quit smoking using the inhaler, it gives his hand/mind something to do whilst the body gets the nicotine fix until that is gradually wiened off.

Not smoking doesn't make you live longer, it just feels like it.

I don't smoke personally, except unintentional passive smoking*. But my auntie managed to quit, for several months before starting again. So, yeah, I agree with what Max said, it takes much longer to beat the craving. Stress doesn't help either, like with issues that was going on; smoking looks like a calming resource. So I guess if this Gucci (sorry I can't help but think the name sounds like the fashion brand) works, it's great, but can it really simulate the same effect?

* - Like how Alton Towers thought it'd be a great idea to put the designated smoking area underneath AIRs lift hill!
