Dell Studio XPS

I was thinking of purchasing the new Dell Studio XPS 13, however stuff.tv's new review would suggest I go for the old M1330. Is this not a bit outdated?

i have the m1330 and it is pretty sweet. have to say though that i would probably go for the studio xps purely because it looks nice. or if you can afford it i would go for the new macbook.

My mate has an XPS and it has charging difficulties and they also have a tendency to shock their owners.

Unusually, we'd recommend going for the older model in this case – we think the XPS m1330 has a better design and, with the XPS 13 due out soon, you can get a great specced laptop for well under £1000.

Re: Dell Studio XPS

I had the original M1330 and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to buy a good value laptop. I had some charging issues but ended up getting a new charger on ebay. This solved that problem. I would tend to agree with Mark on this one. My brother bought the M1530 with the 4gb of RAM and a blu-ray drive. He got a refurb model for £900 which seemed like a good deal. The screen is lovely and it runs most games at a good frame rate. I myself have moved over to the new Macbook, purely because I wanted OS rather than windows. I think you would get much better value on the normal M1330 rather than the studio. I would recommend a company calles e-computers on ebay. They have some good dicsounts when compared to the Dell web price. The only other thing to mention is that the build quality is not the best. Both mine and my brothers had big gaps in the casing and some external parts falling off. If your looking for something more solid then go for the Macbook.
