Slightly excited...

 I've always been a bit disappointed with Nokia phones... Seems like in the past they have always had pretty good hardware that was let down by the Symbian OS. I've always liked the cameras and speakers on Nokias... I've had a Nokia N95 and Nokia 5800 and felt disappointed by both.

With the Nokia N900 I want to get excited... but I can't afford it! I've recently had the HTC Hero, which I don't regret, so it'll be difficult for me to get my hands on this exciting piece of kit.

 It'll be interesting to see if it actually works... New operating systems on phones always have teething problems so I'll probably wait until next year and see if Nokia are still making any worthy handsets.

Maemo is not new but having seen the in depth review it does look.... well boring and the browser is still crap though I bet you can post on here with it.

Technically, the Nokia N900 isn't a phone. It's an internet tablet device with phone features Still, I'd imagine Vodafone would want it. Wouldn't be surprised if the "smartphone network" (O2) want it as well.

Does anyone have any definitive idea of a release date , Mobilephonesdirect are saying mid november , amazon is saying nov 2nd and nokia is saying end of october ?

All rather confusing , why cant nokia just decide on a date and then announce it !?

apparently the release date is Nov 9, for the UK, according to those who people have ordered it direct from Nokia.
