Headphones

Hi all. I'm looking for a pair of headphones with the best possible sound for the above price. They have to be easily driven as they will be used with iPod touch and nokia phone. Ideally closed as not to annoy the wife when I'm listening to music. I currently use in ear Denon c551's which are superb but I can't ware them for long periods of time.

I was considering the Audio Technica ATH- ES5's or the Senn HD25 SP's

Your thought appreciated

Can't see the price you have budgeted for.

Re: Headphones

Sorry. Between £60 and £80

My problem is that my Denon in ear C551's sound so good, that i'm worried that i may choose a pair of headphones that do not sound as good. Its very hard to find local shops where you can listen to your choice of headphone.

Re: Headphones

The HD-25s are great 'phones, but have quite a small earcup, so unless you have tiny ears they don't form a great seal and are very leaky...

Now still considering the Sennheiser HD25 SP's but now also the Denon AH-D1001's. Anyone any opinions on these?

Re: Headphones

If anyone is interested the Shure's are absolutely fantastic. Crisp non overpowering Bass with excellent mids and highs. Well balanced with a very good soundstage. £63 from iHeadphones. Thats on average £30 cheaper than anywhere else.
