PS3 2.41 update – get it while it's hot

It was supposed to hit PlayStations by midweek, but the latest update for Sony’s hub, 2.41, has dropped this morning, with the aim of fixing bricked consoles the world over.

The 2.40 release, which came out last week, caused chaos across the globe when eager gamers went to install it. Those expecting in–game cross media bar (XMB) and trophies were instead greeted by broken machines.

Sony is hoping that this latest release will fix any issues and save any more embarrassment. Xbox users have had equivalent services for years, in the form of achievements and in–game messaging and talk.

i got the the 2.4 update as soon as it came out and ABSOLUTLY NOTHING was wrong with it. Quote of the day "No. of downloadings: 11"

had probs with 2.4 network dns errors , then 2.41 sorted that but COD4 netplay freezing every now and then on downloading game settings :-(
