Unbelievable bang for your buck – Google Nexus 4 drops to £160
Google just single-handedly destroyed the budget smartphone competition by slashing the price of the Nexus 4
Google has dropped £80 off the price of the 8GB and 16GB Nexus 4 models to £160 and £200 respectively.
That’s an insanely good deal for a 4.7in quad-core handset with pure vanilla Android and guaranteed on-the-day updates.
The Nexus 4 earned a well-deserved 5 stars in Stuff’s review, thanks to its gorgeous glass build and super slick performance, and you’d be hard pressed not to snap one up for this price.
Budget smartphones like the HTC One Mini and Galaxy S4 Mini don’t stand a chance against the Nexus 4’s spec sheets; both come packing dual-core processors and price tags that are well over £100 more than the Nexus 4.
The Nexus 4’s price cut has sparked off speculation that Google is making room for a new Nexus 5 (possibly based on the LG G2) which is expected to have a joint release with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie in October.
Either way if you’re in the market for a new Android phone then the Nexus 4 is definitely worth a punt – so pick one up from the Google Play Store, before a poor Google intern realises their pricing error.
It’s such a brilliant price in fact, that Stuff has bumped the Google Nexus 4 up to number three in our Top 10 list of the best smartphones in the world right now.
UPDATE: If you bought a Nexus 4 after 12 August you’re eligible for a refund to make up the difference. Head on over here, fill out the form and enjoy the immense satisfaction that only a tech bargain can bring.
