Quad-core iPad 3 with retina display and LTE due in March
Looks like Apple may be the latest arrival to bring a quad-core tablet to the party, with a Retina Display to boot
Rumours of a March iPad 3 launch are refusing to die as Bloomberg becomes the latest to report that production for Apple’s third generation tablet is well under way – with the Foxconn factory working 24 hours a day to meet the expected demand.
Sources familiar with the iPad 3 have reported once again that it will feature a super bright retina display provided by either Sharp or Samsung and LG – which will result in a slightly thicker or thinner body depending on the choice.
The pixels will – like the Retina Display sported by the iPhone 4S – be small enough to make content look like printed material.
The same sources also report that the iPad 3 will be powered by a quad-core A6 processor and will pack LTE technology for high-speed mobile data, in the US at least.
The iPad 3 is said to be getting LTE before the iPhone as its bigger battery will be able to handle the power drain better, according to Apple.
That’s a whole lot of iPad 3 rumours for one morning – which should, of course, be taken with the usual liberal dose of salt. We can’t wait until March.
