Google Chrome OS launching within a week?
We first heard about Google’s Chrome OS back in July, and now sources are suggesting we’ll be able to download it within the next week.Google’s OS is
Google’s OS is aimed at netbooks and smartbooks, and was originally pencilled in for an autumn launch.
TechCrunch’s sources are suggesting that driver support is going to be a weak point for Chrome, and that Google will be leaning on the hardware manufacturers its been working with, such as Asus, Acer and Toshiba, to create the necessary drivers.
This will of course be key to the operating system’s success and may mean only a handful of machines will be compatible at the launch, with more being added in time.
We’ll have to wait and see if any of these rumours turn out to be true, and we’ll be getting our hands on it as soon as we can to give you the rundown on the new OS.
