The first trailer for Band Hero, the pop loving sibling of the Guitar Hero series, is here and it’s a lot more saccharine than we’re used to.
Featuring a bunch of perky model types running through Lily Allen’s Take What You Take, there’s more hair flicking than a shampoo ad.
The short clip also reveals four other tracks set to appear in the game – Picture to Burn by country popstrel Taylor Swift, Just A Girl by No Doubt, ABC by the Jackson 5 and Dirty Little Secret from US pop-punkers All-American Rejects.
Other acts slated for inclusion in Band Hero include the truly excreable Maroon 5, Fallout Boy, The Killers and Snow Patrol. The final tracklisting will feature 65 new songs.
The game will also add a Party Play mode allowing players to drop in and out of a song. You can see the feature in action during the trailer.
Band Hero will also make a play for Singstar’s territory with a karaoke mode allowing four players to sing together.
If you find yourself stuck playing dreadful plastic pop with your friends, you’ll also be able to download more rocking offerings from the Guitar Hero: World Tour track library.
The game is set for release this autumn on Xbox 360, Wii, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Nintendo DS. Does this pop makeover for the Guitar Hero franchise fill you with glee? Or are you going to stick with the more serious rock original?
Band Hero is available to preorder from Amazon for £39.99.
