It looks like Sharp has been kicking it with Sony down at Weight Watchers for the past few months. Their spanking new XS1 Aquos measures in at a mere 23mm – not quite the 9.9mm that Sony managed with their ZX1. Clearly Sharp’s been indulging in a few too many fondant fancies.
The new monster is half the thickness of Sharp’s previous effort, so they have been working hard to keep that excess weight off. Inside you’ll find a 100Hz processor, 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 1080p for full hi-def pics.
Being so slim, Sharp’s naturally decide to bulk out in other ways, offering the XS1 in anything from 52in to 65in. More than ample as a second telly for the study we reckon. Or as your main gogglebox.
Sharp says us lucky UK punters will be able to set this whole shebang up by October this year. We’re just hoping they stick with the weight loss programme and bring us something more Sony size come CES next January.
