Carrying every Police Academy, Indiana Jones, Rambo, Star Wars, Back to the Future and Naked Gun film around in your pocket may be fun, but squinting at them on a 2.5in screen is akin to going to an IMAX cinema and watching through the wrong end of some binoculars. So all hail Philips’ new portable DVD spinners. As well as screening your Rocky Anthology: Ultimate Edition box set (we’re caressing it now) the DCP 750 and 850 (pictured) have built-in iPod docks for piping hard disk contents to their respective 7 and 8in screens.Naturally they’ll handle music and plain old photos too. Battery lives are a respectable three hours. If you’re prepared to forgo the whole iPod thing then there’s also the conventional 7in PET730, the 8in tablet PET830 and the whopping 10in PET1030 with a nifty rotate and fold screen.Watch out for them from next month, with a digital TV tuner packing PET835 prepped for later in the year – it’s car-tastic.
