Samsung Galaxy Note 5 design leaks

Could this be a sneak peek at Samsung’s next gigantophone?

September is approaching, which means we’re getting closer and closer to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5‘s expected IFA launch event.

We’ve had a few leaks suggest that the handset will land with an insanely sharp 6in 4K display, along with a USB-C port, and now we’ve got what could be our first glimpse of the design itself. Sort of.

We say sort of, because rather than a blurry spy shot of a handset spotted in the dim corner of a bar, we’ve instead got a video of a CAD drawing file, shared by reliable leaker OnLeaks.

Assuming the information is genuine, the Note 5 appears to be very similar to the Note 4, with a simple rounded rectangular design and a physical home button.

As with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the rear LED flash and fingerprint scanner has moved to the side of the camera lens, and a slot at the bottom confirms what we pretty much already knew – the S Pen stylus will return.

There also appears to be a microUSB port in between the headphone jack and drilled speaker holes, which goes against the USB-C port rumours.

The screen’s bezels at least, appear to have been significantly reduced, although not enough to suggest that this is a Note Edge variant with a curved screen.

It’s not much to go on, but it’s the best look we’ve had at the Note 5 yet. Bring on IFA.
