Terminator 2 getting 3D update

Terminator Genisys certainly didn’t do the franchise much good this year, so now it’s going back to the last great entry – from 25 years ago. Director James Cameron will oversee a 3D conversion of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which will release in cinemas in 2016 to mark the big anniversary.

"That seemed like the perfect time to bring it back but this time in an all-new 3D version," Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter. "If you’ve never seen it, this’ll be the version you want to see and remember."

No word yet on when to expect the 3D re-release next year, but if we’re all lucky, it’ll be the last Terminator to hit cinemas for a good while: the more recent entries have shown there’s little creative energy brewing around the franchise of late.

Spotify gets the party started

Spotify is comfortably seated atop the streaming music universe, but the giant isn’t resting on its laurels: it keeps adding new features to the platform. First was the interesting running function, and now Spotify has added a new Party feature to help rock your next shindig.

Rolling out now to the Android and iOS apps, Spotify Party offers up several mixes from professional DJs – most notably one from mega-producer Diplo – that are beat-matched and blended to keep the party moving without an awkward break in the action. You’ll find various lists based on mood, and you can tweak what’s ahead with the new Play Queue option.

Just Cause 3 performance patch

Just Cause 3 ended up being a bit underwhelming, due in part to its spotty performance – but Avalanche Studios is working to improve the experience. A new patch has just started rolling out that significantly shortens load times and makes other fixes for stability.

It’s patch 1.02, and it’s already out on Steam and will reach other platforms shortly. Hopefully the next patch addresses the frame rate issues that have seemingly plagued all versions since release.
