Eek. What is that? I don’t know whether I want to kiss it or kick it…
Well, it’s definitely a motorbike. And the, um, ‘challenging’ overall look gets more and more interesting the closer you look. There’s the swoopy integrated headlight and instrument cluster, as well as the slab-sided carbon fibre forks and rear swingarm. And, from a technical point of view, that single red carbon spar that acts as the spring for both front and rear wheel is pretty damn unique. You’ll never be short of stuff to talk about down at the biker café, that’s for sure.

Is it electric? Crazy retro-futuro stuff like this often is, no?
No. See the bright silver cylinder heads with the exhaust pipes curving down and away? Them’s sure signs that there’s a hydrocarbon smasher in there. In this case, a 1600cc Motus engine in a V4 layout. A rip-snorting 185cc as standard, though there’s talk from its designers of a 300bhp supercharged version – whistly whirlygigs being all the rage for bikes this year.

Interestingly, despite its big engine and bruiser cruiser looks, it’s said to weigh around 180kg – which is less than a lot of 600cc sportsbikes. Don’t go booking a day at Silverstone just yet, though, because the big guy’s geometry doesn’t strike us as being much good for hooning.

And who are the people responsible for this… this beast of a bike?
You’re still leaning towards the lust end of the loathometer, aren’t you? I can see it in your eyes. Well, see, there’s this custom motorcycle company called Confederate that makes crazy, expensive bikes to be owned by the likes of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Confederate’s design chief JT Nesbitt thought that the bikes weren’t crazy enough and left to make his own, letting his design hair well and truly down in the process.

Doubtless, we’re still very much in the Pitt/Cruise bank balance zone with the Legacy – i.e.: don’t ask – but if you want one, Nesbitt and his team will make one to your specification.
