Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S5 on February 23, release set for April
Sammy's next superphone is expected to steal Mobile World Congress' thunder in Barcelona
Russian phone leaker @eldarmurtazin has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be revealed in all its glory on 23 February – one day before Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona.
Murtizan correctly predicted the launch date for the Galaxy S4 last year, so it looks like Samsung is planning to steal the thunder from the likes of Sony, HTC, LG and Nokia this year.
The Galaxy S5 will also apparently be released in April with specs which, according to Murtizan, we already know (new TouchWiz interface included). If that’s the case, we’ll be getting a 5.25in 2560×1440 display, eight-core Exynos processor or Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor and all-metal body.
Previous rumours also pointed to a new Galaxy Gear smartwatch launch alongside the Galaxy S5, meaning we’re going to have our work cut out for us at Barcelona before MWC 2014 even begins.
Bring on the Red Bull, we say. This year’s going to be special.
