Does this shell belong to the Sony Ericsson Xperia U?
Could this mysterious matte black overcoat belong to the Sony Ericsson Xperia U?
So the as-yet unnannounced Sony Ericsson Xperia Kumquat ST25i has left its fruity name behind in favour of the Xperia U moniker. Now, with Mobile World Congress edging ever so close, a few images of a matte black overcoat (spotted by Moumantai) rumoured to belong to the Xperia U have popped up online.
The leaked images only detail the Xperia U’s back panel, so we’re unable to see the transparent notification bar that will grace all Sony Ericsson branded handsets in the future. As you can see, the outer shell rocks similar stylings to CES Hot Stuff Award winner, the Xperia S.
On the spec-front, the Xperia U is rumoured to come complete with a 3.5in 480 x 854 pixel display, Android Gingerbread 3.2 and a 1GHz dual-core engine.
We already to know to keep our eyes peeled for a handful of smartphones from the Sony Ericsson stable – including the Sony Xperia Nyphon/Nypon. And with Mobile World Congress almost at our doorstep, we can’t help but get a little giddy over the prospect of getting our hands on the veritable new line up of new-fangled tech unveiled at the smartphone bonanza.
So far the MWC-shaped rumours have been coming out thick and fast, and with less than two weeks to go, it looks like all will become clear very soon.
