Watch out Apple and Google: Cortana is coming to iOS and Android
Microsoft's personal assistant will be infiltrating your devices very soon
Microsoft has announced that Cortana, its Siri and Google Now rival, will be landing on both Android and iOS devices later this year.
The standalone app will be available to download from both the App Store and Google Play Store in late June, and will bring with it most of the personal assistant’s features.
The app will let you create reminders, track flights, search the internet, keep up with sports results, and more, in a similar fashion to Siri and Google Now.
However, because it’s a separate app and not integrated into the iOS and Android operating systems themselves, certain features like the ability to toggle settings or open apps using voice commands, will remain unique to Windows phone users.
We’ll be sure to test out the app on different devices to see if it’s worth making the switch from Siri and Google Now, so watch this space.
