Philips unveils 7000 Series Smart TVs
Smart TVs for all! Philips launches premium and budget internet-connected goggleboxes
Philips has unveiled its new line-up of Smart TVs, headed up by the top-of-the-line 7000 Series.
Philips 7000 Series
The 7000 Series TVs come in 40in, 46in and 55in sizes, and are bulging at the seams with features, including Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, two-side Ambilight, five HDMI slots, 2 USB ports and 20W speakers.
You’ll also get active shutter 3D tech – and for gamers, the 7000 Series also enables two players to use the same screen, similar to Sony’s PlayStation monitor.
The 7000 series supports a USB keyboard and mouse, useful for internet browsing. It also packs in DLNA streaming and access to online movie services.
Philips 6000 series
The 6000 Series comes in 32in, 37in, 42in, 47in and 55in varieties, and swaps out the 7000 Series’ active shutter 3D for passive 3D. It also loses one of the HDMI ports (offering four in total) and rocks 12W speakers instead of 20W.
Philips 4000 Series
Further down the scale, the mid-range 4000 Series comes in 32in, 37in, 42in and 47in sizes, with Full HD support but no 3D. It has four HDMI ports, three USB ports and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Philips 3500 Series
Finally, the Philips 3500 series brings Smart TV to smaller screens, available in sizes from 19in to 42in, with smaller models offering 720p HD and larger sizes getting 1080p HD. Whichever size you pick, you’ll get YouTube and DLNA streaming, along with three HDMI ports, two USBs and an optional USB WiFi adapter.
Finally, there’s the Philips 3000 Series, a line of non-smart TVs in sizes from 32in to 47in, sporting three HDMIs and one USB port.
