Step aside second planet from the Sun, move over goddess of love, LG’s just claimed your name for its sexiest mobile yet: the keypad- and touchscreen-endowed Venus.
That’s right, not just a solitary touchscreen. That’s so 2007. This one comes with a good ol’ retro keypad as well, in case you feel like letting your texting fingers fly.
The bottom screen (there are two) is where all the touch action happens. It gives one-tap access to the menu, messaging, contacts, call list and, more importantly, the built-in music player, which can draw on up to an iPhone-matching 8GB of tunes via the miniSD slot.
Natch, it comes loaded with Bluetooth stereo for wire-free cans, and can access the HSDPA high-speed network to make light work of music downloads.
For some misguided reason the model on show at CES is still only available in the US, but LG tells us a UK version will be landing “some time this year”. You know, guys, it wouldn’t hurt to be a little more specific. We’ll call out months; you scratch your nose if we’re right…
