Apple iPhone 5S to have 12MP camera?
Apple's next iPhone could be joining the 12MP camera club, if the latest rumours are to be believed
As Apple gears up for production of the iPhone 5S (or 6, or whatever it’ll be called) reports suggest that the next iPhone will arrive with a 12MP camera.
That’s according to Vietnamese blog Tinthe.vn, whose source – Wonderful Saigon Electronics – is involved in supplying camera modules for the iPhone. We’d expect that the upgraded camera will provide improved low-light capability to compete with the likes of the HTC One and its Ultrapixel snapper.
Of course, an increase in megapixels won’t matter if the actual sensor size remains the same (which would lead to more noise) – so we’re hoping Apple has something more than just a boost in the megapixel count up its secretive sleeves.
As always, we’re dousing this latest iPhone 5S rumour with medically unhealthy doses of salt until something more substantial comes along, so stay tuned.
