CES 2015: 10-minute pitch – Dash can make just about any car smarter

An app that tells you how you're driving, how your car's feeling and how to save yourself cash

For the past week, Stuff has been running interviews and product pitches on the International News Stage at CES 2015, the biggest and craziest technology show in the world.

You know those computers mechanics plug into your dashboard shortly before sucking their teeth and saying you have a problem that’s going to cost thousands of pounds to fix? Good news! You can use those computers for good.

Dash is an app that hooks up to OBD devices and furnishes your iPhone or Android with data on how well you’re driving (which you can share with pals), how you could drive more efficiently, whether your car has any issues and more. Here, CEO and founder Jamyn Edis gives the full lowdown.

About

Will is a contributing editor and ex-Editor-in-Chief of Stuff. He's been here a while: since 2004, in fact. Things have changed a fair bit since then, although he still gets ribbed for his ongoing respect for 'pioneering' Windows Mobile PDAs. He lives in hope that a new gadget will some day emerge that excites him as much as his Amiga did when he was nine. (The iPhone came pretty close.)
