Time was, trimming a mobile vid ready for sharing meant flinging it through iMovie – and sapping your battery in the process. Got yourself a 3D Touch-enabled iDevice? Things have changed: Velapp takes the pain out of cutting on-the-fly thanks to a nifty rate-as-you-shoot mechanic. Press harder when things get good or lighter when they’re boring – then, once you’re done, simply adjust the desired length of your clip: Velapp will trim out the worst bits automatically. Sure, it can be a bit rough around the edges and there’s no way to edit further after the fact, but it’s a cinch for speedy shooting.
