Huawei’s Mate 10 Pro is a glass-backed OLED stunner
AI inside to get the best from twin Leica cameras, too
Huawei is ending 2017 on a high with the drop-dead gorgeous Mate 10 Pro, a feature-packed flagship with an AI-controlled brain that wants to turn you into a better photographer. It’s got a polished, curved glass back that’s flashier than a Ferarri, and a mammoth 6in, 18:9 aspect ratio OLED screen up front, with those oh-so-desirable minimal bezels that are all the rage right now. The super-quick Kirin 970 inside has plenty of CPU grunt, plus some silicon dedicated to machine learning – making it faster at recognising images than any other phone. It’s like having an AI David Bailey on board, helping you use the dual Leica-branded rear cameras to their full potential. Expect a huge 4000mAh battery for two days of go-time between charges and Android Oreo on-board when it arrives later this month for €799 SIM-free.
