LG’s new curved 4K OLED TVs will blow away your eyes (and wallet)
Oh LG, why must you tease us so? [updated with video]
LG has announced a new series of high-end curved OLED TVs ahead of their official CES unveiling.
Available in 55in, 65in and 77in models, they’re all rocking 3,840×2,160 4K resolutions, displayed on LG’s WRGB OLED panel which uses yellow pixels in addition to the traditional red, blue and green ones for better colours and contrast.
The 55in and 65in models can be snapped up in flat-screen flavours if you wish, while the 77in model will arrive in curved form only.
Normal SD and HD content can apparently be upscaled to 4K without the traditional blurring effects that are normally associated with upscaling.
There’s no pricing information available at the moment, but we expect to receive more details at CES next week. Not that we’ll be able to afford them anyway…
