Mobile World Congress 2024: all our posts from the global mobile tech show
Everything we saw at MWC 2024 - the global key phone tech expo
This week we turned our attention to the world of mobile in the form of Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress show, aka MWC 2024 where lots of new phones, tablets and wearables break cover.
The show finishes today and we’ve been on the ground in Barcelona. During the expo, a bunch of brands take the stage to showcase their latest. The focus at this event is typically on smartphones, but in recent years, we’ve seen more announcements in different areas such as laptops and smart home.
We’ve now chosen the winners of our MWC 2024 awards – check out the best gear from the show!
MWC is always a bit of a weird hybrid of a show. Not only are there a bunch of product announcements, but it’s also where the mobile industry goes to do business. That means there are quite a lot of tedious announcements, too! That’s where we come in, to cut through the noise and bring you the really great launches, which is what we’ve done on this very page.

What can you expect from MWC 2024?
As in previous years, some companies prefer to launch things away from the show and Apple has always been a standout for not exhibiting at all. For example, Google attends but doesn’t generally announce anything consumer-related, instead leaving things for its Google I/O event which normally takes place in May (here’s what happened last year).
Last year we saw announcements such as OnePlus confirming it would release its first foldable phone, the OnePlus Open. There were also concepts, such as Motorola’s rollable phone. And we saw big reveals such as the debut of the Honor Magic 5 Pro.
It’s similar this time around – the Magic 6 Pro has been launched, for example. There was also the availability announcement of the Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design edition. Honor also launched the Magic Book 16, too, (the Pad 9 appeared at the tail end of last week) while it also teased another Porsche Design phone in the form of the Porsche Design Honor Magic 6 RSR, set to debut in the coming months.
We’re certainly a long way from the times a decade or so ago when most new flagship phones would be launched at the show, particularly the year’s new Samsung Galaxy. Even Nothing’s 2a is set to launch the week after, on 5 March.
Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series has already been launched, as has the OnePlus 12. OnePlushas launched the OnePlus Watch 2 with a hugely long 100-hour battery life.
