Acer unveils business-flavoured Aspire One Pro netbook
Our one major quibble with Acer's otherwise lovely Aspire One D250 netbook was that its three cell battery struggled to get beyond the two hour mark.
Of course, all this extra juice comes at a cost – the Aspire One Pro is much weightier than its sibling, and the battery protrudes from the back. But it’s otherwise a pretty slim 2.5cm thick, and packs in a 10.1in screen, Wi-Fi and a multi-touch trackpad.
Models with 1GB RAM start at £300, while a pricier £460 version comes with a hardy 64GB flash drive. There’ll also be a version with built-in 3G available in a month or so.
Not to be outdone, Acer’s Timeline series received business-flavoured updates too. The Travelmate 8000 Timeline team – there are 13.3in, 14in and 15.6in versions – all come with the series’ famed 8-hour battery life, and a Powersmart adaptor that stops using power when the battery is fully charged.
Otherwise, they’re mighty similar to the existing Timelines, with prices starting at £580 for the 13.3in model, £600 for the 14in and £610 for the 15.6in version.
