Amazon completes the set with ITV Hub and All 4 on Fire TV
Every UK catch-up service for Fire TV set-top box and stick
Couch potatoes rejoice – Amazon has now bagged catch-up TV from every UK broadcaster.
BBC iPlayer and Demand 5 (now My5) have been on the Fire TV set-top box and Fire TV stick for what seems like forever, but ITV Hub and All 4 finally made the cut today.
That means there’s no excuse for missing anything aired on UK TV if you’ve got one of Amazon’s streamers – as long as you’ve got a valid TV licence, that is.
You don’t need to have the 4K-packing 2015 version of Fire TV to get the new services, either. The original model and the streaming stick will also get access.
That’s a smart move from Amazon, seeing as the £35 Fire TV Stick is the company’s fastest ever selling own-brand device.
Amazon reckons the addition of ITV Hub and All 4 bring the total number of apps, channels and games available for Fire TV to over 4200.
Naturally that list includes Amazon’s own Prime instant video, but you can also count Netflix, Spotify, Plex, YouTube and UKTV Play among the other heavy hitters.
Both new apps should be available to download today through the Fire TV app store.
