BBC iPlayer update lets you download shows to iPhone and iPad
Dodgy streaming from the iPlayer on your morning commute will soon be a thing of the past
The BBC iPlayer app for iPhone and iPad now lets you download episodes to your mobile for viewing later. That’s right, your train journey no longer need be filled with window-whacking rage as Doctor Who wrestles with a sketchy connection.
All programs downloaded – initially only over Wi-Fi, but with 3G coming – will last for 30 days or 7 days after first viewing. While iOS owners can rejoice, the Android army has to face the obligatory wait before the update rolls out to them.
