Xbox SmartGlass app hits Android early
You can now use your Android device to control your Xbox 360, a good few months earlier than expected
The Xbox SmartGlass app wasn’t meant to land on Android devices till early next year, but Microsoft appears to have pushed the app out early which is a nice surprise for those in the Android camp.
The SmartGlass app will allow you to use your smartphone to supplement your Xbox 360 experience by letting you control video and music playback from your device as well as tracking achievements and sending friendly trash-talk messages to your Xbox Live friends.
You’ll also be able to enter Bing search terms and URLs intp the Xbox 360’s new Internet Explorer app, which should save you some time over using the standard controller.
We expect to see more of SmartGlass shown off later today at Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 launch, so join us here from 5pm UK time for all the latest action from the front lines.
