Ashton Kutcher’s Steve Jobs biopic finally gets release date

Jobs, originally slated for an April arrival in cinemas, will now hit US screens in August

Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs in biopic

It’s the news we’ve all been waiting to hear! The Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher, has been given a release date at long last. Jobs, having thankfully ditched its original title of “jOBS”, will arrive in the US on 16th August.

The movie, directed by Joshua Michael Stern, also stars James Woods, Matthew Modine and J.K. Simmons and follows the rise of Steve Jobs from college dropout to CEO and creative driving force of the world’s most profitable tech company. It hasn’t received a particularly encouraging reception from critics, current boasting just 43 percent positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes (although that’s based on only seven reviews).

Jobs is only one of two upcoming biopics about the late Apple founder. The other (as yet untitled) is being written by The West Wing and The Social Network scribe Aaron Sorkin, and will reportedly consist solely of three 30-minute sections, each based on a different Apple product launch. It’s fair to say that we’re a little more excited about that one, although we have no indication as to when it might arrive.
