Asus Eee Pad Transformer Android 4.0 update delayed

It looks like original Asus Transformer owners will have to wait just that little bit longer for their taste of Ice Cream Sandwich

Owners of the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer – and Stuff’s 2011 Gadget of the Year – had reason to celebrate last month when it was announced the transforming tablet would be following in the footsteps of its Transformer Prime sibling and HD-toting successor by getting the Ice Cream Sandwich treatment in mid-February.

It turns out those celebrations might have been a bit premature – the Asus Transformer Ice Cream Sandwich update has been held back until the end of February/March.

The news will come as a blow to those who are faithfully rocking Asus’ original transforming tablet and were looking forward to giving it a performance boost.

As Asus has given no reason for the holdup, all that’s left to do is impatiently wait and hope the Eee Pad Transformer isn’t subjected to any further delays.

Once the Taiwanese company gets the official confirmation nod, the over-the-air Android 4.0 update will be rolled out to Transformers everywhere.
